They were tasked to design, produce and exhibit an appetiser, which required setting up a vegetable charcuterie cup and mini meatball on a spoon.
The criteria for success included a healthy product to be eaten by all ages, must be finger food, colourful, layered, include a range of textures, be innovative and interesting to the eye.
Congratulations, Year 10s. What a display!

Kaya Clarkson CHS Families,
As many of you are aware, the storm and flooding that occurred in our suburb on Friday has impacted Somerly PS. There is further clean up and repairs that are needed to be carried out before Somerly PS students can safely return to school. This means that Somerly PS site will be closed this week.
Clarkson CHS will be used as an alternative school site for Somerly PS students who cannot be kept at home. Supervision of a modified instructional program will be provided by Somerly PS staff for any Somerly PS students who attend. Somerly PS staff and School Leadership will be on CCHS site to support any Somerly PS families or students who attend.
Please note, Clarkson CHS students will have a regular school day with no interruption to planned programs.

Parents were presented with a list of questions to ask our students, such as 'what do you love about Clarkson?' which sparked conversations, resulting in parents getting a small chocolate. They met with our Clarkson CHS Board Chair, Mark Folkard MLA, and later joined in the Zumba class.

Resilience and determination were also key factors that helped achieve this great result, with team work showing through in spades. Go Spartans!

Following Clarkson CHS being the hosts for the Pearce Young Leaders Forum in 2017, this morning Peter Moyes ACS had their turn to host the 2018 forum. Attending this year was a great honour for me, as I was able to attend my old high school, where I now sit on the School Council.

The forum is hosted by Federal Member for Pearce and Attorney General, Hon. Christian Porter. The special guest this year was none other than Australian boxing legend Danny Green.

Danny touched on themes of self-sacrifice, working towards goals and bullying. All students were engrossed in the practical wisdom being shared by Danny as he drew on examples from his boxing career and his "One Punch" Campaign. Our very own Georgia Lovett scored a "shout-out", as Danny shared that he was her height when he was 17.

Our student councilors carried themselves extremely well amidst other schools within the electorate. Jasmita Jeshani and Scott Currie deserve huge thanks for overseeing our students at the event.

Following on from the successful and highly useful Cyber Safety presentations held at our school, Clarkson CHS has teamed up with ySafe to provide parents with a special Online Safety Hub.

This fantastic resource supports the school community by providing practical insights and advice directly from internationally renowned Online Safety and Digital Wellness Experts.

It contains online safety information guides, "deep dives" into all the main social media apps, blogs and articles, tutorials on setting up parental controls on devices, as well advice on dealing with various online issues, reporting incidents, and counselling and support.
