Photos from Clarkson Community High School's post In Food Technology this week, Year 10s exceeded expectations.
They were tasked to design, produce and exhibit an appetiser, which required setting up a vegetable charcuterie cup and mini meatball on a spoon.
The criteria for success included a healthy product to be eaten by all ages, must be finger food, colourful, layered, include a range of textures, be innovative and interesting to the eye.
Congratulations, Year 10s. What a display!

Kaya Clarkson CHS Families,
As many of you are aware, the storm and flooding that occurred in our suburb on Friday has impacted Somerly PS. There is further clean up and repairs that are needed to be carried out before Somerly PS students can safely return to school. This means that Somerly PS site will be closed this week.
Clarkson CHS will be used as an alternative school site for Somerly PS students who cannot be kept at home. Supervision of a modified instructional program will be provided by Somerly PS staff for any Somerly PS students who attend. Somerly PS staff and School Leadership will be on CCHS site to support any Somerly PS families or students who attend.
Please note, Clarkson CHS students will have a regular school day with no interruption to planned programs.

Photos from Clarkson Community High School's post At Clarkson CHS, we value the relationships we have with our feeder primary schools and last week, four Student Councillors participated in Clarkson Primary School's Wellbeing Day. Parents were presented with a list of questions to ask our students, such as 'what do you love about Clarkson?' which sparked conversations, resulting in parents getting a small chocolate. They met with our Clarkson CHS Board Chair, Mark Folkard MLA, and later joined in the Zumba class.

The Department of Education will be delivering a Career Conversations event for families and schools at Joondalup Resort on Tuesday 23rd April.
Parents and students are invited to join the conversation about post-school options at this free event which will give families the opportunity to hear about:
• where to find accurate, up-to-date career pathway information
• exploring university and training pathways
• career pathway information for young people with disabilities
• where the jobs are
• what employers and industry are looking for.

Photos from Clarkson Community High School's post On Thursday the Year 7 and 8 Spartans team travelled to North Beach to compete in the NRLWA northern carnival. Some excellent skills were on show and this resulted in the squad coming away with 3 wins out of 5. Clarkson placed 4th overall out of 10 teams. Resilience and determination were also key factors that helped achieve this great result, with team work showing through in spades. Go Spartans!

Clarkson has always been at the forefront of new technologies. This year we're building a new dedicated Esports/STEM room with help from our students.

The room will house PCs built by students to compete in various esports leagues, as well as 3D printers to promote design and manufacturing. We hope this new facility will inspire and engage young minds in STEM.

A big thank you and well done to Year 12 Photography student Spencer Locke for designing this amazing 6 metre long wall art for the new room. The printing company was very impressed with the standard of Spencer's work!

Following on from the successful and highly useful Cyber Safety presentations held at our school, Clarkson CHS has teamed up with ySafe to provide parents with a special Online Safety Hub.

This fantastic resource supports the school community by providing practical insights and advice directly from internationally renowned Online Safety and Digital Wellness Experts.

It contains online safety information guides, "deep dives" into all the main social media apps, blogs and articles, tutorials on setting up parental controls on devices, as well advice on dealing with various online issues, reporting incidents, and counselling and support.
