Welcome to Clarkson Community High School

Clarkson Community High School is a proud Independent Public School with a focus on “high care, high expectations”.  Our school community empowers students to build the confidence, values and skills as lifelong learners, to achieve their personal best for a successful future.

High quality teaching, a positive and orderly learning environment, and family partnerships are critical to student success. We offer a caring and supporting environment that meets the learning needs and aspirations of our students, recognising that success means different things for different students. We value and encourage student voice and support students to drive positive change within the school.

As a Community High School, we highly value our connections with our local primary schools, and with the community more broadly, to ensure that our students experience a smooth transition into high school and a strong sense of connection to our school and to their community. We are driven by our shared values: Care, Optimism, Respect and Trust.

As the Principal of Clarkson Community High School, I invite you to contact our dedicated staff to discuss how we can work together to ensure your child flourishes and achieves success.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work, the Whadjuk Noongar people, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. I further acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have nurtured and educated children on this land for thousands of years.

Leah Crawford, Principal

Today we held our inaugural Staff vs Students Touch Rugby Match at lunchtime, and what a showdown it was! The students came out firing with plenty of pace and flair, but the staff showed off some unexpected skill and athleticism 🤩 – clinching the win in style.
A huge shoutout to our Year 12s for bringing the energy and making it such a memorable event. 🎉👏

This year’s National Science Week theme was Decoding the Universe – finding nature’s hidden language. To celebrate, Clarkson CHS invited teams from Clarkson, Merriwa, and Somerly Primary Schools to compete in our annual STEM event, The Clarkson Challenge.
Students explored fractals and their presence in nature, discovered how fractals are used in animation, and studied the Noongar seasons before presenting their work to a panel of judges.
👏 Congratulations to team Somerly Avengers for taking out this year’s trophy! Along with the win for their school, each team member also received tickets to Scitech.
🌟 A huge well done to every student who participated—we loved seeing your creativity and teamwork. We look forward to hosting you all again in 2026!
